Atlantis Still the Best

The Atlantis website has been a little quieter than usual, and the variety of subjects has dwindled. So here is something a little different: I do not believe any word processing program has brought me as much pleasure and satisfaction as Atlantis. And I have tried many. I have tried many out of ...

Access Violation

The other evening I received an "Access Violation 00511A48" message.
No information was lost, and the program continued to work fine.
What does this mean? Is it relevant?
I am using version 1.6.5.7

Thanks for your incredibly fast response. The option is working perfectly again, and does save time with only a little bit of Ctrl [ or ] and Ctrl Shift > or < to finish off.
Thank you,
Regards, Peter.

Shrink Page Count

I have a small problem.
I need to use the "shrink page count" option.
When I press Ctrl F2 the document is displayed accordingly, and the "shrink page count" icon is visible, but apprears to be "greyed out", and is inactive.
What have I done?

Atlantis 1.6.5.3 beta a4

I have just downloaded Atlantis 1.6.5.3 beta a4. Is there anything we need to know about the "beta a4" addition or is this just an internal adjustment to 1.6.5.3?

Hiding White Space

The “Hide White Space” view will be my default view into the foreseeable future. What a brilliant move from Atlantis. The flow of text when preparing documents is not interrupted under this view and it makes my work much easier. Also, this posting was prepared in the middle of a document simply by st ...

Hi, I have tried all of the suggestions, without success. As mentioned above, my scroll lock key does not operate in Atlantis, although it does work in Excel (about the only program where it does work). The nearest I can get to what I would like, if using Atlantis, is to press the mouse wheel and ...

Hi Robert,
Many thanks for your reply.
Regrettably my scroll lock key has no effect when toggled.
It works in Excel, however.
For the time being I shall stick with Notepad++. It serves my purpose well.
Regards,
Peter.

Scrolling Documents

For anyone who reads long documents, I have found the following feature in Notepad++ to be very useful. One can use the Ctrl and Arrow keys to scroll up and down pages very conveniently. The cursor travels only to the top or bottom of the screen and does not disappear, so it can quickly be brought ...

Changing Print Colour

Is there a reason why Atlantis no longer accepts any colour but black when trying to change the text and background colours.
In Tools/Options/Colors I have no success changing the text colour. Background colour I can change. Not Text colour.

Hi Robert,
Yes, it's possible. I often hit the Insert button by mistake and that could account for it happening before I picked up the Ovr on the Status bar.
Thanks.

Hi Robert,
Yes it does say English on the status bar. I'm still puzzled because it seems intermittent. Could there be a conflict with another program?

Power Type

I am having a problem with Power Type. It is enabled, but for some reason it does not always give its usual list of suggestions. Is there a reason why this is happening? Power Type is normally quick with its suggestion lists, and to me it seems as though something is not quite right. I type a word ...
