To be able to send e-mail other than by attachment is a must. Atlantis in my eyes will never match the big boys otherwise. Far, Far lesser word processors can already do this, and have been doing so for years. Do other Atlantis users agree?, if so put your views here so the Developers of this fine word processor will agree to do something about it. ( I know this has been mentioned before but if I keep on maybe it will be implemented one day )

Well, I will respond to say that I disagree totally. I completely fail to understand why this such a big deal. If I click on "Send by email", Atlantis fires up my email program, attaches the doc, and it's ready to go. Where's the problem? Why is it so important to have the contents of an Atlantis file inserted into an email? If I create an image in an image-editing program, that image will be sent as an attachment, if I create a PDF in another word-processor, that PDF will sent as an attachment, there's no problem there. Sending documents as attachments actually has several significant advantages, especially in terms of being easily able to separate the dcoument from the email, which is surely what most would do anyway.

So, what do you do if someone needs to send you a PDF? That must be attached, since it is a separate file? What about an XLS file, or any other sort of file at all? How do you receive these if you NEVER open attachments? I never open unsolicited attachments, and always send notice that I am going to send an attachment, but to me, the idea of NEVER sending or opening any attachments at all is not only needlessly overcautious, it also severly restricts the usefulness of email Heck, I've even bought software for which the licence key came as an attachment.

I know you are only asking to send text as an email, but this does raise questions. What if someone replies to the email? Atlantis wouldn’t be able to receive the reply or quote it. Users would have to resort to using another email program to read the reply. Are you really sure you want Atlantis to become a "partial" email client. I’m really only guessing why the developers might be reluctant to add this.
