Bigger File Dialog Boxes

Post by dosdan »

I find Atlantis' File | Open box too small.

Using Details view I get 6 files,
compared to Word 2000, 14,
and Word 2002 with its fullscreen selection box, 50 on a 1280x1024 screen.

As well, the preview option works well in Word 2002 because the text is quite readible without double-clicking.

Is there any possibbility of either increase the size of the File Open window or having it open fullscreen?

Hi!

Look at:
http://www.netcult.ch/elmue/ElmueSoft-en.htm

There is a patch for Windows named "MultiEnhancer". This small program can adjust the height of the file-dialog (open/save). It is also able to do some useful changes in "Internet Explorer" an "Outlook Express".

best wishes, michael

The "Open document"/"Save document"/"Open picture"/"Save picture" dialogs are resizable in the latest build of Atlantis. Thanks.

An exellent idea! But it does not work! I downloaded the latest beta, and the preview box is bigger - but I cant resize it.

This feature requires Windows 98 or higher (it will not work on Windows 95). If you are using Windows 98, please redownload a newer build. The previous build did not work on Windows 98 properly.

OK. I downloaded the newer build and NOW - it doesn't work. I have Windows 98 - probably an early version.

Which version of Windows 98 (which build)? Please right-click the "Desktop | My Computer", and choose "Properties" from the menu.

Thank you. That is a definite improvement.

Perhaps one day you can provide a Open menu with a choice of two Previews:
1. greeked layout view as provided now
2. a readible text-only view as Word does.

I have Windows 98 4.10.1998 - but after I got the (b7)-beta it works here, too. Thank you very much!

The latest build of Atlantis has readable previews in the “Templates”/“Open document”/“Save document” dialogs.
