Access violation 00000078

Post by abdobe »

When I open Atlantis and start writing, it shows an error message with access violation 0000078. When I press OK, the page disappeares. When I then make a new document, everything seems to be in order.
Any suggestion what to do?

Is the “Spellcheck As-You-Type” box checked on the “Spellcheck” tab of the “Tools | Options…” dialog of Atlantis? If so, please try unchecking it, then restart Atlantis. Does it make any difference?
By the way, error addresses cannot have only 7 digits.

Access violation

Post by abdobe »

I tried to uncheck the box as you suggested, and that works. I can start the program and it doesn't close anymore. However, when trying to check the box for spell checking again, the error message apperars again. This time with the following access violation number:00000063.

It seems like this have something to do with the spell checker, but why this problem suddenly appered or how to fix it, well I have to count on you.

Most probably something is wrong with the Atlantis spellchecker on your PC. Have you adjusted the spellcheck settings of Atlantis recently? Could you recall changes to the spellcheck files of Atlantis?

Please check if your version of Atlantis is up-to-date. Just choose the "Help | Check for Updates..." menu command of Atlantis, and upgrade if suggested.
If you are using the latest version of Atlantis, you might need to reinstall the spellchecker of Atlantis. For this, please create a backup copy of the files of the "C:\Program Files\Atlantis\Spellcheck\" folder (it might contain your custom files), then remove this folder from your disk (use your file manager), and use the latest setup file of Atlantis to reinstall the spellchecker. You can download the setup file of Atlantis from the Downloads page of the Atlantis site. When reinstalling, make sure that the "English spellcheckers" item is checked on the "Select Components" page of the setup.

A re installation of the spell checker did the trick.
