Power Type

I am having a problem with Power Type. It is enabled, but for some reason it does not always give its usual list of suggestions. Is there a reason why this is happening? Power Type is normally quick with its suggestion lists, and to me it seems as though something is not quite right. I type a word that I know is in its list, and yet it does not always make the suggestion.

Hi Peter,
This happened to me once. For some specific purpose, I had set the language of some text to “none”. When I started typing again English text, I forgot to reset the language coding. As the typed language was assumed to be “none”, Power Type did not pop any suggestions up. The same could happen if you had set the language of some text to a language that has no installed spellchecker in Atlantis.
Note that the current language coding is shown on the status bar. Does it say “English” when you type?

Hi Robert,
Yes it does say English on the status bar. I'm still puzzled because it seems intermittent. Could there be a conflict with another program?

Hi Peter,
Another possible cause: you are typing in “Overtype” mode. Power Type works only in “Insert” mode.
The current typing mode is shown on the status bar (“Ins”/“Ovr”).

Hi Robert,
Yes, it's possible. I often hit the Insert button by mistake and that could account for it happening before I picked up the Ovr on the Status bar.
