Re: HELP!
The E-mailing component of Atlantis is part of your e-mail program and not part of Atlantis. Atlantis just conveiniently sends the document to your mail program for it to send to the address you choose.

I suggest if you use Outlook (or Outlook Express) to setup an entry in your address book.

Alan,

Very convenient if your mail prog is outlook....what about others? Will we see a choice in the future? I am trying to stay away from MS products...the outlook only choice was disappointing.

I love Atlantis...but everthing can be improved.

steve

Steev, see the thread "support for other email clients" I too avoid Outhouse or Outhouse Excreta. I use Pegasus, and have had trouble setting up Atlantis to work with Pegasus. It turns out that I was using the wrong type of MAPI installation. As long as your email client is the registered MAPI client, Atlantis will work with it, apparently. One user mrntions that he uses Netscape's mailer with Atlantis no problem.steve wrote:
Alan,

Very convenient if your mail prog is outlook....what about others? Re: HELP!
Steve, I just installed Pegasus' support for the Simple MAPI protocol , and, hey presto, I can now email direct from Atlantis - YeeHaa! ;D Give it a try, and see what happens with your client.

Re: HELP!
You should customize the settings of your email client. Atlantis has nothing to do with this.
Re: HELP!
So therefore, Atlantis does not support non-MAPI e-mail clients. I can live with that. Is there anything in the development plan to send a text buffer to an executable as a commandline parameter, so that those of us who do not want to use the big standard MAPI e-mail programs can use Atlantis in conjunction with them?
Re: HELP!
MS Outlook Express is a standard component of Widnows. MAPI is supported by most email clients (MS OE, Netscape, Eudora, etc). This is a standard and recommended way of communicating between email clients and other applications.
Re: HELP!
And I'm not disputing that. However, for those of us who see the MAPI protocol as a convenient way to spread viruses and therefore do not use it, is there some way to send the file by just calling the e-mail program and passing the file as a commandline parameter?

I'm thinking of something that works like the Windows "Send To" functionality. Maybe even if you were to do the same thing, even using the Windows "Send To" directory, that would be nifty.

Thanks for your suggestion.
