File extensions and saving (bug)

Post by Spielorjh »

I found a problem that I can reproduce under the following steps:

1. Create a new file
2. Select "File/Save as"
3. Type in a filename, but do not type a file extension.
4. Make sure that "Rich Text Document" is selected as the type of file.
5. Click Save.
** At this point, the file is created, and is an RTF file, but the filename is simply [filename], not [filename.rtf]. EVERY OTHER editor program I know of, be it Notepad, Wordpad, Word, etc, will add the file extension for you.

I just tried this. I created a new document, selected save as. It gave me a suggested name "Doc87.rtf" I deleted that and just typed blah - no extension. After saving, the name of the document showed up as blah.rtf.

Atlantis never adds a file extension if the filename is terminated with a fullstop:

blah.
