For some reason, Atlantis' open/save files dialog seems to have scrapped the Places Bar. I see instructions for changing the Places bar in windows at e.g. http://windowsxp.mvps.org/PlacesBar.htm and (for MS Office) http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=282087.
Is this a missing feature, or am I missing something?

You have 2 different ways to open favorite folders in Atlantis which are as good as any "Places Bar":
The Atlantis "File | Open..." dialog (Ctrl+O) has a "Folders" drop-down list. It is a "history" list of the folders where you have been recently to open files. But you can change settings so that this "history" list will actually function as a "favorite folders" list. Here is how to proceed:
1. Press "Ctrl+O" to open the "Open Document" dialog.
2. Pull the "Folders" list down and choose "Edit History List..."
3. Filter out unwanted folders from the history list, add any other suitable folders, then check the "Locked" box.
In the future, only the folders that you have selected will appear in that list.
Atlantis also has a "File | Favorites..." menu. You can use it to organize your favorite folders and files into appropriate categories, and gain direct access to them from Atlantis. Here is a sample screen capture below.

The Atlantis Open/Save dialogs have a different design than the standard Windows Open/Save dialogs or the corresponding dialogs in MS Word. The Atlantis dialogs have a big Preview panel. Also Atlantis has its own Favorites and its own document history. Most of the things displayed by the Windows Places bar have almost nothing to do with Atlantis. For instance, there is absolutely no sense in offering the Favorites of Internet Explorer in the Atlantis "Open document" dialog because this dialog has nothing to do with MS Internet Explorer or any Web page.mcleaver wrote:Can we have it then please?

This is quite possible on my system (XP Home).
I only have to click the down arrow attached to the "Views" icon, and choose "Details".
Also clicking the "Date" column heading once or twice sorts file names in ascending or descending order.
