In addition to the standard booklet printing feature available in the previous versions of Atlantis Word Processor, this release introduces the printing of pocket-size booklets. Now when you select booklet printing in the “File | Print…” dialog of Atlantis,
you can choose to print up to 16 pages per sheet side:
If you select both the “Print booklets” and the “2 pages per sheet side” options, you only need to fold the printed pages along the median line to get a booklet:
If you select both the “Print booklets” and the “4 (or more) pages per sheet side” options, you will need to cut the printed paper sheets first before folding. For example, with 8 pages per sheet side, the stack of printed pages would look in this way:
In order to build this booklet, you should first cut the printed stack of pages along the cut lines, as shown on this picture (cut lines are shown in red color):
After this you will have 4 stacks of smaller paper sheets (each stack is shown in its own color on the following picture):
Then you should stack up the above smaller stacks in the following way
in order to obtain a single stack:
You should now proceed in the same way as you do with ordinary (big) booklets (2 pages per sheet side). You can either fold the entire stack along the median line:
or split the resulting stack of pages into a set of smaller stacks each of which has to be folded separately (a so called compound booklet).
Note that the “File | Print” dialog includes a new “Print cut lines” option:
Cut lines will be available for printing only with booklets of 4 (or more) pages per sheet side. In all other cases, cut lines are not required. When this option is checked, Atlantis prints dotted lines to show cut lines:
