Latest Atlantis News. Reducing Picture Quality.

Big document files can be a problem if you want to send them over the Internet or if you’re running out of hard disk space. Quite often document files are big simply because they include rich-color pictures. Accordingly, one of the most straightforward way to get lighter documents is to reduce the color depth of the pictures they contain. This is now easily achieved in Atlantis. All you have to do is to right-click the document picture and choose the desired color depth:

But there is an upside to this. Document size might be reduced by kilobytes, tenths of kilobytes, and in some cases even by hundreds of kilobytes. You can end up with dramatically more compact document files. You will find this feature useful if picture quality is not paramount. This can be the case, for example, if you want to send draft versions of your documents by email.
