Latest Atlantis News. The Atlantis Control Board (Part 2).

The Control Board Bookmarks panel displays with a click on the "open book" button on the top toolbar:

You will use the Atlantis Bookmarks panel to create, edit, delete, or organize the bookmarks in the active document. The bookmarks can be sorted either by name or by location.

As you navigate through the document window with the keyboard or mouse, the bookmark that is nearest to the caret is automatically highlighted in the Bookmarks panel so that you can identify the current document position within the global bookmark structure.

Double-clicking a bookmark name in the Bookmarks panel automatically brings up the corresponding bookmark in the document window.

Individual bookmarks are quickly displayed in the bookmark list by typing the first characters of their name. The typed characters are highlighted in red:

The bookmark name can be selected by typing more characters. You can also use a mouse click. At this point, pressing Enter brings up the corresponding bookmark in the document window. As we just saw, you can also double-click the bookmark name directly.

At the bottom of the Bookmarks panel is a toolbar with all the bookmark-related commands. You will use these buttons to:

  • Show the corresponding bookmark in the document window.
  • Create new bookmarks (new bookmarks are automatically associated with the current document selection or caret position).
  • Rename bookmarks.
  • Delete bookmarks.
  • Format the current document selection as hyperlink to the bookmark highlighted in the Bookmarks panel. This is done in 3 easy steps:

    1. Select the fragment of document that you want to format as hypertext link.
    2. Select the target bookmark in the Bookmarks panel.
    3. Click “Format document selection as hyperlink to the bookmark highlighted above” on the toolbar.

  • Sort bookmarks by name or location.

Note that the "Insert | Bookmark..." and "View | Bookmarks" commands of older versions of Atlantis are no longer present in this new version of Atlantis. The document bookmarks are now entirely managed from the Atlantis Control Board.
