Latest Atlantis News. Atlantis Word Processor 1.6.1.2.

Atlantis Word Processor 1.6.1.2 is a maintenance release including minor changes and fixes. It includes minor adjustments, improvements, and fixes. Please read on for details.

  • A number of improvements have been made to the "Insert | Symbol..." dialog.

When you open this dialog now, only one character from either map is highlighted in blue, i.e. selected. The character in the other map is also highlighted, but with a gray background. This is to avoid confusion as to which character would be inserted if you clicked the "Insert" button. Clicking the "Insert" button only inserts the character highlighted in blue:

Now when you type a code in the "Symbol code" box, and the font selected in the main character map does not include a character with this code, the symbol currently selected in the main character map is grayed out:

If you still clicked the "Insert" button in such cases, Atlantis would suggest to search for another font that would have a character associated with the typed code:

  • You might try to insert a character in the document window using the Alt+NNN combinations on the numeric pad when the current font has no character associated with the typed code. In such cases, Atlantis will automatically search for another font having a character associated with the typed code, and will insert it, if found. Note that the change of font face only applies to the character inserted with the Alt+NNN method. If you carry on typing, the font face that was current before you inserted the special character will still apply.

  • The "View side by side" mode with "Synchronized scrolling" can now be used in 2 different ways:

    • You can open 2 documents in the "View side by side" mode and switch "Synchronized scrolling" on. Both documents will automatically be scrolled from top to bottom. When you scroll one document, the other document will automatically be scrolled by the same amount, from top to bottom, with matching line numbers.

    • You can also open 2 documents in the "View side by side" mode first, then switch "Synchronized scrolling" off. Each document can then be scrolled independently. When you are satisfied that the 2 documents face one another at the appropriate location, you can switch "Synchronized scrolling" back on. Again, when you scroll one document, the other document will still be scrolled by the same amount. But the 2 documents might display a different line or page number in either view. In other words, the "Synchronized scrolling" of Atlantis can be customized so that scrolling can start when the 2 documents face one another at different levels.
