I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get the effect you want with PhraseExpress

It allows you to make macros to automate certain text insertion tasks (and is free for personal use)

It sounds like your ‘art program’ is adding the extra returns.

If you open the text file you get from the art program in Windows Notepad and the extra lines are there, it proves the art program is adding the spaces for some reason and that’s where the trouble lies.

Display the character count for the selected text on the sta

I’d like a slight tweak to the display of ‘Chars’ on the status bar. I have ‘Characters with spaces’ on display in my status bar as I often write chunks of text to a certain character count limitation. More often than not I do this using the clippy bank (shudder) page. Also often, I have various chun ...

Visual indications on docs & read only functionality

Visual indications on docs As I’ve mention on this thread , I’d like to request a way to mark certain documents. My first thought was by paper colour but alternatives include paper texture and coloured page edges. In this way I could mark individual documents as I wish – one colour could mean first ...

Thanks for the suggestions. File/Email/Send by email The text I’m editing is used in the body of the email so attaching the doc to an email wouldn’t do what I need. Ctrl+F8 to Append to the Clippy Bank Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V are second nature so I’m not sure Ctrl+F8 would be much of a speed up for me (pro ...

How to keep my 'master' docs from being edited accidentally

I’m looking for a solution to a minor problem. I have a set of documents that I use as ‘form’ letters. I have these all listed in my Favourites. These rarely change but I do occasionally make the odd tweak here and there to improve them and keep them up to date. What I usually do is open the relev ...

I may well have the wrong end of the stick regarding what you’re trying to do but have you also tried pasting your text in using ‘Paste as environment’ (Ctrl+Alt+Ins)?

Ah, turns out I was missing something - I didn’t realise you were talking about those particular conditions. Having said that, I just tried putting the cursor on various lines and scrolling up and down using the mouse wheel. It seems that some lines will just naturally ‘land’ partway obscured off the ...

I use Windows 7 along with the Aero theme and just updated to the latest Atlantis Beta (1.6.5.4 Beta b1) and tried the F9 full screen view (as well as normal view) and it still regularly shows lines halfway off the screen. I must say it doesn’t bother me at all but thought it might be worth r ...

Small colour change request

This may well be the most trivial feature request you’ve ever had but… Whenever I upgrade to the latest version of Atlantis (and there’s been several lately), my heart always stops for a moment when the installer starts as the sudden appearance of a bright blue screen makes me think Windows has crash ...

Hi, Love your lateral thinking Robert but those methods wouldn’t allow you to edit them in situ – you’d have to switch back to Atlantis, locate the problem, re-save and reload in the browser/ebook reader to spot the next problem. That seems much more convoluted to me. In my version, the user simply c ...

Suggestion for an ‘Alternate View’ tool

I have a suggestion for another tool to help improve writing. You know the way many people like to print out their writing because they spot mistakes, double words, bad grammar etc when they see it in this different form? How about a tool in Atlantis to randomly change a few (user definable ...

sjaves Another feature that sets Atlantis apart and may interest you is ‘Writing Time’. It keeps track of how long you’ve spent typing each of your documents. I should also say is that a couple of the features I’ve mentioned here are the result of requests I’ve made on this forum. I think that’s als ...

what do you find so wrong with the “Clippy Bank” name? Do you have suggestions for a better name? Well, I can’t give you much of a reasoned, thought out argument. It’s just a personal preference really but the name ‘Clippy Bank’ just makes my teeth itch. Combine it with the icon of a piggy bank and ...

Not sure I knew that either! Atlantis has many hidden depths...

I just use the Clippy Bank [shudder - hate that name] as a way to write quick notes that don't need saving permanently (e.g. when writing a forum post) and as a way to store misc chunks of text while I'm writing a long piece.

I always think many of the interesting and quirky features of Atlantis are rather hidden and new users having a casual look will have a tough time discovering them (I’d completely forgotten about the Document Projects feature for example and I’ve been using Atlantis for years now). I’d suggest the de ...
