Re: Search Function
Thank you so much for your response. I don't think I'd ever have found that myself.

Search Function
When I search for a word, the whole Control Board pops up. I've been unable to find a way to stop that happening. Surely there is a simple solution, but it has so far escaped me. I do not want to keep a search history but cannot find how to turn that off either. My version is 4.1.6.5. Help?

Did you try double-clicking the greyed out text? Oohhhhhhhhhh. Dumber than dirt, stupider than slime am I. When I saw your post, I said, "Of course I tried double clicking." Just the same, I tried it again. 8O I shall just crawl away to my cave now, but not before saying thank you. Thank you.

Does your document contain multiple sections with headers/footers? Did you try inserting page numbers to a blank document? No multiple sections, and it is every document. A header shows up - which I've never happen seen before, and a footer with a page #. And then I can't use the document anymore ...

Page Number Troubles
It has always been easy peasy to add page numbers to Atlantis documents. Suddenly I am having troubles. Maybe I am forgetting a step? I choose Insert Page Numbers from the file menu. I make my choice - I always use the same format - and the #s show in the footer with the document text greyed. I can ...

Rundll32.exe Starts with Atlantis
Lately - I do not know exactly when it started - whenever I want to open Atlantis (version 1.6.6.5), it takes two tries, and then Rundll32.exe starts up and uses huge amounts of CPU.
My question: Is Atlantis programed to start rundll32.exe before it loads?

Just Found
I only just now found your answer. Thank you so much for the link. I downloaded the file.
I do, however, have another question, but it is unrelated so I will start a new thread.
Thanks again.

Earliest version is 1.6.6.5?
:) Yes, it is obvious you do not think having the Help files offline is important. Still, I do, and I appreciate you pointing me to earlier versions. Trouble is, the version 1.6.6.5, the earliest version on the link you provided does not include the Help file. I lost the Help file when I "upgraded ...
Help File
I am using an older version of Atlantis 1.6.6.5. Before I "upgraded" to this version, a wonderful help file came with the word processor. I was hoping to be able to go back to the earlier version, but I can't find it. Is there a place I can download an earlier version?

Have Newer Versions Lost Functions?
This won't be helpful at all, but I wonder what version of Atlantis you are using. My current version is 1.6.6.5. Yes, an older version, but it always remembers its position and it opens all the documents I last had open. Have those functions been removed from newer versions?

All's Well
First I am happy to say that my problem has been resolved. What troubles me still, is that I have no idea why Atlantis was acting up in the first place and it took no less than four tries to get the Save cursor position to stay checked. In answer to Admin's question: No I don't run multiple ...

Sorry. I must be losing my mind. The first place I checked was the Save cursor position" option. I swear it was checked before I ever posted my problem. However, after I answered your post so definitely, I thought it might be a good idea to check again. This time I found it un checked. I put a check ...

Files Open with cursor returned to beginning of Documents
Atlantis has lost the feature that saves the cursor's previous position. The files I was working with open when I open the application, but each one has taken the cursor back to the start of the file.
Can you tell me how to fix the problem?

Bullets, Lists, Outlines. Can they be turned off?
My question is in the Subject Line. Is it possible to turn off automatic numbering/lists/outlines? I've always found it hugely frustrating. Not in Atlantis specifically, in any word processor. I want to type in my own numbers and text in my own way. But no. Word processors jump in and interfere the ...

IT WORKS!!
Hey, THANKS!!
The ^p^p in the Find what box and the ^p in the Replace with box works. Saved me a huge amount of work and worry. And it's a solution I will no doubt need in the future.
Thanks again.
