Hi Robert,
That was my fault - I read it as ctrl because I wasn't paying attention. I tried shift+F7 instead and it now works as advertised.
Many thanks for that solution.
Regards,
Paul

Hi Admin & Robert, I'm now using WWP 6.76. I changed my hot key combo to Ctrl+F7, as suggested, but it made no difference at all. I have WWP start with Windows so I can use it in OpenOffice Writer and other programs. To reiterate, If I highlight a word in OpenOffice et al, and execute my hot key ...

To resurrect an old thread... I'm using Wordweb Pro v6.72 (latest as of two days ago). If I put the insertion point in a word and execute my hotkey (ctrl+F11), WWP does not ever display 'Replace'. If I highlight a word and execute my hotkey, WWP only pops up about one time in twenty. If and when it ...

Hi Alex, I have several ebooks in premium distribution through Smashwords. In every case I have used page breaks (Ctrl+Enter) to delineate chapters. The Smashwords Meatgrinder conversions honored the page breaks with no difficulty. While the Smashwords style guide decries the use of page breaks, it ...

Hi Robert, Thanks for the updated link. Having tried to repair my user profile and discovered that W7 still insists on marking the folders in question as read-only, I tried to change the attribute byte of the templates folder using the command line interface. No luck there either. I think the fix ...

Hi Robert, That seems to be the problem - I don't have full control over the templates folder. I can change the attribute byte but it resets to 'read-only' immediately. Probably a corrupted user profile, as you say. I'm sure I'll have fun fixing that. Thanks for the links and for your help. Regards ...

Hi Robert, Yes, I have full ownership. All 'Full Control' checkmarks are present. I did manage to solve the problem, though I'm still puzzled at the method. If I open Atlantis and then try to open a template, I get the 'Document template should be stored under this folder...' message (same message ...

Hi Robert, Yes, the templates are all in the place you mentioned. Atlantis shows them in this default location as does Windows Explorer. It just won't let me save a new (modified) template. I get the information dialog as noted in my last message. The only possible response to the dialog is to click ...

Saving Styles Again
To open up an old wound... I was able to save templates until I upgraded to version 1.6.5.8. but this version won't let me save them at all. I get the message: Document templates should be stored under this folder (or any of its sub folders): c:\Users\Myname\Documents\Atlantis\Templates\ Then it ...

Saving Styles
I know I can import my own heading styles from a document I have previously created, but is it possible to permanently save my styles and make them part of my arsenal of tools, ready to be applied to any document?
Importing them for every new document is getting old.
Regards,
Paul

Admin & Robert, Thanks for your swift replies. I checked the associations using Atlantis > Tools > File Associations as you suggested. Both file types of interest are already listed as associated. Double-clicking such a file in Windows Explorer just opens the file in Notepad. Repeated attempts to ...

File Associations
In Windows XP Pro I want to associate .doc and .rtf files with Atlantis. Currently, if I double-click either of these file types they open in Notepad. Selecting 'Open With' does not offer Atlantis as an option. I can associate these files with Wordpad, Notepad, Textmaker, or any number of other ...

Hi Robert, Thanks for the explanation of how the search function is supposed to work. It's not exactly what I'm seeing though. I select a block of text in a larger document. Let's say there is only one instance of the word I'm looking for in the selected block. I click 'Find Next' and Atlantis will ...
