Atlantis Windows 7 to Windows 11
Have so far managed to merge Windows 7 to Windows 11. But in Atlantis (which was registered correctly), I can't find a program like .ini which has all my old docs and customizable keys . All is on my external hard drive. Could you tell me what program has all this information? And how to put it on ...

Re: Cannot Delete Read-Only
I'm never totally sure what I am doing. But with help from you and the mortal Atlantans, so far, so good. Thanks for advice.

Re: Track changes
Ditto, ditto, ditto!!!!~ I love Atlantis, have recommended it to many. As to Tracking, yeah, I need it. I mean we need it. When editing a long piece, I have to use Word (brrrr). But our suggestions for a tracking app go many years back. I'm certain that Atlantis has tried, but something in the ...

Re: Cannot Delete Read-Only
Windows 7 doesn't have much of an anti-virus (if any). Anyhow, Avast is deleted forever. I'm now using Alvira, which----so far---seems fine, and all systems on Atlantis are Go. The Administrator gave the clue by noting that Atlantis has nothing to do with Read-Only, and then the Avast solution was ...

Re: Cannot Delete Read-Only
WOW! Yes, I deleted Avast-----and all those bothersome "read-only" boxes disappeared as well. I am elated. But now....could you suggest (unofficially, of course) a non-invasive Anti-Virus? With thanks for all.

Re: Cannot Delete Read-Only
Thanks. That at least lowers the list of culprits. I'll start working on Avast.

Re: Cannot Delete Read-Only
Hi. Firewall and Antivirus (Avast) all disabled. Rebooted. No solution, alas. Then started carefully changing things on Options, but also no effect. (Changed things back!). Here's the deal. a) All old docs come out Read-Only----though they were perfectly normal until three days ago. New docs are ...

Re: Cannot Delete Read-Only

Re: Cannot Delete Read-Only
P.S. Just booted into Safe Mode---and Read-Only has disappeared. (Good news). Rebooted to normal and Read-Only makes its venomous return (Bad news). Any suggestions?

Cannot Delete Read-Only
Suddenly, all my Word 7 Atlantis documents---old and new--come out "Read-Only" (And I never use Read-Only). I've tried the usual solutions: My read-only boxes are all unchecked. Anti-virus gives me nothing. I tried a temporary "Factory Settings". I have total access for security (Administrator etc ...

Re: Periods (...) don't repeat/
Yep, I'd done everything you suggested. It would normally be a keyboard error, but the dot problem works with other programs. And another keyboard did the same thing. My best bet is auto replace: In this case replace "aaa" with "..." That leaves a space between the word and the first dot, but I ...

Re: Periods (...) don't repeat/
P.S. Yes, in options, I can do an automatic replacement (I write aaa, and replace it with ...),but that leaves a space after the word. With no other solution, that would have to suffice. But...well, maybe there's a real solution.

Periods (...) don't repeat/
I love Atlantis, but for some reason I can only type a single dot/period). Then it stops. And I continue with only a single dot. This isn't a keyboard glitch (the same problem with other keyboards) or other word processor glitches (other word processors type endless dots) , or Windows problem ...

"save documents" doesn't save
Nearly all my Hot Keys work. Not , though, Save Documents. I have both the assigned hotkeys, and a simple F2 hot key (to press while working, so as not to lose stuff.) Tonight, I started New Document, wrote a few words, tried saving. It didn't save. I used the command on "File" o save, and it seemed ...

Re: Opening screen image
Got it!!!! Thanks for your efforts. My saved files are in great shape, the customized hotkeys are exactly the way I want them, I can put on a Control Board if I need it, and all else is just fine. I don;t know if Version 4*** is a great improvement on Version 1****, but am happy to have downloaded ...

Re: Opening screen image
Aha!!!!!! Teat.rtf actually works. That is, the top three-quarters (Title Bar and white space) is what I get when "turning on' Atlantis!! That downward part (your original message about another subject) I dont see on myscreen, but probably is part of it). Anyhow even if I can't fill in the white ...

Re: Opening screen image
Well, I sent on line a file called teat.rtf. but have no idea whether you would have received it (The line "Not downloaded yet is for a second try. but teat.rtf should be there. The top three-quarters is as I described it. the PrintScreen also included at the bottom a file I can't seem to get rid of ...

Re: Opening screen image
Can't do it. The screen is a big off-white square taking the whole computer screen, except for the Title Bar horizontally on the top. (The Control Board panel I have hidden). So simply want to fill the white screen with something more....er, interesting?
