Alan, I gave you bad info. I don't know if the following works for you, but I just checked it using WinXP Home sp3 set to Classic. From the Quick Launch taskbar, Atlantis opens maximized with a single click. You can drag QL icons to put them in the order you want them. Minimizing with the normal ...

Start Atlantis Word Processor minimized
I keep my Atlantis icon properties set to "maximized". Resetting it to "minimized" puts it in the task bar. Is this what you mean?

Re: Color menus are empty for fonts and highlights
Hi, You could try either of the following: 1. Close, then reopen Atlantis. 2. Switch the Atlantis toolbars off, then back on. 3. Log off Windows, then log back on. Reopen Atlantis. 4. Reboot, then reopen Atlantis. Hope this helps. But, please, do mind your head! Cheers, Robert Robert, that is what ...

Color menus are empty for fonts and highlights
This problem happened once before and I can't remember how I fixed it. It happened all of a sudden then and now, and all I remember is that it left me with a headache from banging my head against my computer!

Atlantis book...?
I've been using Atlantis almost from its beginning, and think it's the greatest WP ever created. However, it has grown so feature enhanced it's hard to keep up with all the changes. Has anyone written a book on Atlantis? If not, could you collect in one html all the usages given on the website when ...

Atlantis locked up on me with a message that it could not open "doc74" and would not even let me close the program. I had to use ctrl-alt-del to end it, but got the same message every time I tried to re-open. This is a legitimate file which I had not renamed yet. I finally unstalled Atlantis, re ...

ASCII character inserts
Works fine for me in Atlantis. I keep Num Lock on by default for that purpose. OS is Win98SE.admin wrote: Alt+<NumPad Keys> insert characters in Atlantis when the Num Lock key is on.

I voted "no" because I have the New Collegiate dictionary and thesaurus on my hard drive with a "quick launch" icon. It's a simple matter to double click a word, CTRL+C to copy, click the dictionary/thesaurus icon, and CTRL+V to paste. It's much faster than it sounds, and this way it's also useful ...

Full screen & scroll bar? Also backup question
Is it possible to have the right-hand scroll bar showing (but nothing else) when in full screen mode (F9)? How can I set Ocean Mind so that every time I save a changed version, the unchanged version is automatically backed up as "filename.bak" in the current directory. I rarely need more than one ...

Beta testing
[/quote] Hi, Sandman! You are right. The current beta version is a beta version of Atlantis Ocean Mind, not of Atlantis Nova. But you are wrong when you say that Atlantis Nova is ad-supported. Atlantis Nova is totally free and does not include any ads for anything, except for itself and Atlantis ...

Hi, Stone412,
Are you using Atlantis Nova, the free ad-supported version? I don't think the beta will install unless you have the paid version, Ocean Mind. Nova is not being updated, I believe.

Ignore List
In the Opera browser forum, which uses the same BB system as Atlantis, there is an "Ignore List" feature which allows one to ignore a particular user whose posts are of no interest. I cannot find this feature on the Atlantis forum. Is it possible to activate the Ignore List here also? It appears it ...

Hi, Max. Thanks for suggesting I get on the beta tester team. I got to use 1.5.0.0 earlier, and was impressed with the speedy improvements once they got started. Very much worth waiting for. Now if someone would just write a comprehensive book on using Atlantis... Well, I'd be willing to pay fifteen ...

Hi, Admin, you beat me to it! I was trying out the same thing to see if it would work (Win98SE) and it does. The only thing I would add is that if you do not have a document loaded when you click the "FS" icon, you'll get nothing but a blank gray screen. You'll have to hit ESC to get out of full ...

I trust the use of the term "incoming" is meaningful, as in "about to land?" The new features will certainly make Atlantis a viable alternative for MS Word. Looking forward to the release. More than just a "viable alternative," with a little luck it may wipe MS Word off the face of the earth. Then ...
