Re: main window size not (always) remembered anymore?
Also, I actually always switch between the two modes by double-clicking the title bar, not by clicking the maximize/non-maximize button at the right hand top. But I don't suspect that will make a difference. And as I said, I've only just upgraded to the very latest version, it remains to be seen if ...

Re: main window size not (always) remembered anymore?
It's weird, isn't it. I can't consciously produce it, but it has happened a few times over the past weeks. I don't use F9. The non-maximised window is usually centered on my (very wide) screen, filling it entirely in the vertical direction, but leaving open space to the left and right of it. In fact ...

main window size not (always) remembered anymore?
I regularly switch Atlantis from a full size window to a custom sized window that takes up about half my screen. (I mean the Atlantis window itself, not the document windows within Atlantis.) I've noticed in the last version (or versions) it has suddenly stopped remembering the exact size of the ...
Re: allcaps
However, I do see that "all caps" in the list of font properties (next to bold & italic &c), so next time it occurs I'll now how to turn it off. Hopefully. Might be less annoying than having to delete & retype or cut & repast without formatting. I'll try, and also try to pay attention to what ...
Re: allcaps
No, the problem is not with the Caps lock key or its light. Because the caps lock key is system wide, but when the caps lock thing happens it's just an area of a document in Atlantis that seems to be affected. Note that I also said that in those cases, the text typed with caps lock on (and in upper ...
Re: allcaps
Okay, thanks, but is this peculiar to Atlantis? Because I've never noticed this in MS Word or any other word processor. This distinction between allcaps and uppercase? For me (and as far as I know every other programme I've worked with), allcap has simply meant every letter is in upper case. This as ...
allcaps
Sometimes, and only sometimes, when I put text in allcaps (by pressing capslock and then typing text), and then release the capslock again, Atlantis will go into a mode where anything that I type after those words in allcaps will still be in allcaps, even though I haven't pressed shift or allcaps ...

Actually no, Editpad counts 900 characters less, but never mind.

word count differences
How do word processors count words? And whence the discrepancies? I have a text here, an abbreviated version of a NYT article, which MS Word says counts 1141 words, while Atlantis puts it at 1172. And when I copy/paste the text into a plain text editor (Editpad), it says the text contains 1184 words ...

improvement in getting word count maxed out?
At some point, if you've been using Atlantis for a while, the word count in the status bar no longer functions. It keeps saying 0 words for all documents. You can still get the statistics by doubleclicking it, the pop-up window with full (and presumably accurate) statisticks will then appear. But it ...

behaviour with US international keyboard layout
I have a minor feature request in the way Atlantis handles the input of the ' key when using the US International layout (far and away the most used keyboard layout for Dutch users, and maybe other languages containing a number of diacritical accents as well, I don't know). With this keyboard layout ...

Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Not entirely sure if this is a beta issue, or something that was introduced before that, or even if it is a regular feature (I haven't kept a non beta version of the programme to check). If the latter, I'm not sure I see the logic. When selecting words by doubleclick, single quotation marks (‘ and ’ ...

Re: autocorrect items reset after update
Correction, I was too soon to reply. I'm fairly sure that when I went to look at the interface for autocorrection, I saw listed more than the default items. After that, I closed Atlantis and restarted. DIdn't look at it again. I added an item to autocorrect (via the right click menu on a spelling ...

Re: autocorrect items reset after update
In beta c0 the autocorrect items are present on start-up.
I'll continue trying this.
(Don't know what all you've done, but I'm noticing a marked speed increase in start-up with multiple documents open.)

Re: autocorrect items reset after update
That's weird! No, i always launch it from the shortcut in the Windows taskbar, and as far as I can see that refers to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Atlantis\awp.exe". When I close an ini file is indeed saved in "D:\Documenten\Atlantis", and as far as I can see that is the file that is loaded on startup ...

Re: autocorrect items reset after update
Yes, I load a different set of “replace with” pairs (different from what's already in your INI file) through “Tools | AutoCorrect Options... > Load from File...”?. I don't try to, I do. Because "what's already in your INI file" is not ACTIVE. They may show up in the ini file, but when I go to "Tools ...

Re: autocorrect items reset after update
Yes, language selection isn't the problem. The ini file may look fine, but all the autocorrection items contained in it do not show up in the autocorrection dialogue, which only contains a handful of default items every time I start up Atlantis. (The reason it took me a while to notice is I very ...

Re: autocorrect items reset after update
I have just checked. I see that all the autocorrect items *are* are present in the ini file, and that ini file does seem to be loaded (and saved on exit). But for some reason the autocorrect items aren't in effect and don't show up in the autocorrect dialogue. That only happens if I manually load a ...
