As various issues remained unclear here in this thread I would like to describe now my solution. Perhaps it may be of interest for other users too. The situation has to do with two basic problems: A) When a user has chosen in Windows as “Language for non-Unicode programs” (alias "System locale")* a s ...

Just a question in connection with this matter: Does Atlantis, apart from fast navigation, have the feature to go back to the last edited location(s) in a document? In MS Word this is possible (by pressing Shift + F5) for the last 5 changes I think. This is something very practical because it is not ...

As I understand things, you have: – A German Windows OS – German as both your "Windows display language" and your first "Preferred language" – Greek as the Windows “Language for non-Unicode programs” All correct. [...] you have: – Atlantis Word Processor whose "Preferred language" is English. Correc ...

Just a small but perhaps essential correction to my statement from above: I am aware that Atlantis is compatible with Unicode (the less I understand why these settings obviously influence the behaviour of Atlantis). As I see now, Atlantis itself is obviously a non-Unicode program! (Fortunately not ...

I am not sure that switching to the 64-bit Windows on its own could change anything since Atlantis Word Processor is a 32-bit application. It seems that you are right. I think I found out now the real reason for the delay. 8) The disappearance of the delay was only triggered by my switch to 64-bit ...

As I understand, you have reinstalled Atlantis. Correct. Maybe those performance-related issues were linked to your previous Atlantis settings. No, the Atlantis settings were the same: more or less just the default ones. (Just like you have seen it by the ini-file I had sent you). So many failed ...

:D I found the reason for the described issue: It's the 32-bit OS (Windows 10)!! Today I made (as a trial) an upgrade to 64-bit . (The hardware remained completely the same.) And the speed for loading of a document, showing it completely on the screen and being able to work with it (srolling, start ...

Did you try disabling the status bar before loading your document (the "View | Status Bar" menu command of Atlantis)? I tried it just now. Unfortunately no difference. The delay seems to have some connection with the formatting of a document. It occurs with a document loaded as .doc, .docx and .rtf ...

I made a new attempt to find out what may be the reason for the delay on my computer. In the meantime I am quite sure that the loading itself of a document works very quickly. Obviously the delay is caused by the next step: After the loading (of a bigger document) the page number (caret position in ...

Thanks for the INI file. But reinstalling Atlantis means reinstating the factory settings. Just to clarify it here too (as already written per e-mail): Of course I did not only reinstall Atlantis but then I configurated it in a few details, quite similar to the previous installation (the 10 steps ...

My big documents paralyze Atlantis
First of all a Hello to the forum, looking for an alternative to MS Word, in the last days I made my first acquaintance with Atlantis (version 4.0.4.0). The overall impression is very good, especially I appreciate its possibility for a quick and comfortable search within a document. (A more ...
