Re: German User Interface

A small suggestion adressed to the author of the German translation (I will write it nevertheless in my poor English so that visitors who don't speak German can read it too): In the English language obviously there is a distinction betweeen " dash " and " hyphen ". This distinction is also made in ...

Re: Atlantis Word Processor in your language

Notif.en+dt.jpg I found some strange wording in the notification about the Backup Files tool - both in the German translation, but also in the English one (see the picture above): 1.a) Already in the English version it seems that enabling the "Backup Files tool" and enabling the "Backups Files ...

Re: Atlantis Word Processor in your language

Finally I succeeded in switching from English to German, but I missed some steps in the Help. (Perhaps later I will describe in more details what I mean.) Things are much easier than I thought at the beginning. :D Just to be sure: When downloading the user interface pack, the folder "Lang" is ...

Re: Atlantis Word Processor in your language

Thanks to the users who created the additional UI language packs. 1. Concerning the German version, first of all a small grammatical correction: In the drop-down lists - "Choose language" in the window "Welcome to the [...] Setup" and - "User interface language" under "Accessibility" [see images at ...

Re: main window size not (always) remembered anymore?

According to your second post, you use a quite sophisticated method to arrange your windows on the screen. I could imagine that this may be the reason for the issue (e.g. because of closing the windows in a "wrong" order or something like that). Did you already test the situation with the most ...

Re: Disabling capitalization after using Polish abbreviations

Do not disable "Capitalize first letter of sentences". Use the “Exceptions…” button to the right of that option, and enter the various abbreviations that end with a dot in Polish. I admit that I was not aware of this possibility with the exceptions. Sorry. :( For someone who finds it important that ...

Re: Disabling capitalization after using Polish abbreviations

When I use them in the middle of a sentence, Atlantis automatically capitalizes the next word. For me this does not happen (fortunately). :D Please take a look at Tools --> AutoCorrect Options . The box for "Capitalize first letter of sentences" must be unchecked in order to avoid what happens to ...

Re: Some improvements

It's more about the Resume Reading Feature. This feature remembers the page you were last on before closing the document. This is useful when you are proofreading text and not editing something on every page. I see. But (in case you did not edit something) won't be the cursor anyway on the page ...

Re: Some improvements

[Unfortunately the system once more locked me out when trying to preview my post. So all the text is gone and I do not like to write it again from scratch. Just a quick summary concerning Nr. 1 (if it is not written clearly enough, please tell me).] In addition to the possibilities that a document ...

Re: Shading is influenced by too big table width

This is how things may be rendered under the “Draft” view mode only. Yes, I usually view my documents in Atlantis in the Draft view mode. However, the next release of Atlantis will render paragraph borders and shading in such documents in a more Word-compliant way under the "Draft" view. That's fin ...

Shading is influenced by too big table width

Usually the width of a table will be the same or smaller than the width of a page. But sometimes it may happen that by error the table width exceeds the page width. If a document (in my case created in MS Word) contains (somewhere) a paragraph with shading * and (at some other place) a table (with ...

Re: make a document read-only within the user interface

Thanks for your interest and your explanations. Concerning 1: So there is obviously a different point of view which method is more logical and convenient in such cases. Anyway, I see from your posting that "read-only" and "protected view" are two separate terms and two different technical approaches ...

Re: make a document read-only within the user interface

As announced in the above posting here are some ideas concerning the new Read-only features. When quoting something, I do it from the chapter concerning Read-only documents in the Atlantis Help: https://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/en/help/opening_documents.htm#readonly 1. Read only means that a ...

Re: make a document read-only within the user interface

Thank you very much for the new features implemented in version 4.4.0.3. The "Read-only" status can be achieved now (and vice versa be reverted) in a very comfortable way. You established a clever solution. :D (After dealing more in detail with the new features perhaps I will come back with a few ...

Re: make a document read-only within the user interface

I just wanted to write a feature request but by making a Forum search I saw that djsmith911 had already suggested in essence the same thing. : Simply (?) an option to make a (typically already opened) document read-only from a button (or something similar) within the Atlantis user interface ...

A positive feedback for the new portability features

With version 4.4 new portability features have been established. I tried out some of them, e.g. the possibility to create a portable copy of Atlantis as a clone from the existing non-portable one (either in order to use both of them or in order to replace the non-portable one). This and various ...
