Atlantis 3.1 and 4k / UHD screens

Post by wcpeace »

Thanks for the toolbar update on Atlantis 3.1, snazzy and very configurable.
I like it. A way to size the icons might be useful, as they are pretty large for me. But, relatively speaking this is a lower priority IMHO.

My biggest issue is resolution. Interface and Fonts are not crisp on a 4K laptop.

I've attached screen shots of the same document on Atlantis 3.1 vs Libreoffice Writer. Libreoffice is much crisper - fonts and icons.

Sorry the files are so large...I wanted to show the original screen capture without compression.

Robert,

any thoughts on when Atlantis might be upgraded to 4k / High-Dpi support?

HTML editor (WeBuilder) I use was just upgraded...super happy about that!

You could try running Atlantis in some form of Compatibility Mode. Have a look at the tricks suggested for Windows Desktop Applications at Blurry apps ruining your 4K monitor? Adjust high-DPI scaling in Windows 10
A similar trick is explained at Override System DPI Scaling for an Application with Blurry Fonts
Also here is from How-To Fix Fuzzy Windows 10 Text on High Resolution Displays
There is a workaround that you can use. Right-click on the shortcut of the app you’re having an issue with and then Properties. Then select the Compatibility tab and enable ‘Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.’ A restart will be required to finish the process.
HTH.

Version 3.2.2 will be probably DPI-aware.

I've used a workaround for Photoshop...but graphics is one thing, text is another. Haven't seen the links you sent before.

Looking forward to the dpi-aware version.

on another note -- Is there a way to make 3.xx use the old pagination as 1.6? Can't reformat a manuscript that's already been published.

The MS Word document formats are reflowable formats. You should not expect your documents to be paginated identically by any word processor of any version on any system.

If you need the "1.6 pagination", you can use the corresponding version of Atlantis Word Processor:

The DPI-aware version of Atlantis Word Processor (3.2.2) will be released soon. There is no public betatesting for version 3.2.2. But if you are interested, you can already try it out. Just download & run the setup file of version 3.2.2:

just installed this high DPI aware beta - looks sharp so far. Haven't done any sort of editing, just visually speaking at the font. Looks crisp. Thanks. If I run into any issues, will advise.
