Ability to open password protected odt files

I really appreciate the Atlantis ability to open so much faster than LibreOffice. Does the doc or docx format have the capability for password protection, and if so, can Atlantis handle that? I could switch to whatever format works.

Atlantis Word Processor does not support password protected ODT, DOC or DOCX files. But it has its proprietary encrypted COD format:
