Another try to simulate a two pane outliner.
Suppose there is a Document Project. The Document Bar now shows a „flat“ outline of the project. Each entry stands for a single file which may represent a chapter of a publication for example (which can be divided in smaller sections by use of the headings and the Headings Panel. So every single file/chapter acts like a single pane outliner). This combination of Document Bar and Headings Panel allows to structure big projects/documents on two different levels. This is especially useful for any kind of manual-like publications.
Atlantis Word Processor makes it possible to rearrange the order of the elements in the Document Bar but does not allow to outdent or indent them to represent the hierarchical order of these elements, to distinguish between chapters, subchapters and so on. Otherwise the headings within the chapters could be used exclusively to show/hide parts of the text. For example detailed explanations, comments and so on.

Just a suggestion. You can use undescores within the document filenames to simulate an outline in the Document Bar:
Code: Select all
Level 1.rtf
___Level 2 a.rtf
___Level 2 b.rtf
___Level 2 c.rtf
...
Ad Document Bar
Ad Document Bar
“Just a suggestion. You can use underscores within the document filenames to simulate an outline in the Document Bar.”
This sounds similar to my suggestion using a numbered list but finally is easier to handle as we don’t have to think about the right numbering.
See how it could be implemented in the ATTACHMENT:
