Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Can you email your document file to support@atlantiswordprocessor.com?
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Sorry, I won't send my documents. But as I mentioned, they are normal doc.files (created with a quite old version of MS Word), converted into rtf-files. (I assume the issue will be the same with the original doc-files themselves. If it is of use, I can test it.)
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
If possible, please provide us with the step-by-step instructions to reproduce the problem.
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
In a book title page which I am simulating there is the following line:
FAWCETT CREST • NEW YORK
The bullet in the center which is spaced with an Em Space on each side is red underlined as if misspelled. Why is this?

Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
After making some tests I found out the following:
The bullet is displayed correctly in most of the cases:
1. When creating a new rtf-document in Atlantis 4.3 (beta) itself and inserting the bullet (either via Insert -> Symbol -> Symbolcode 2022 hexadecimal respectively 8226 decimal or via a Hot key, in my case Alt+P)
2. When opening an existing rtf-document (with missing bullets) (see 4.) and adding a bullet within Atlantis (as described in 1.) -> This new bullet (only this one) is displayed.
3. When opening a doc-file with bullets within Atlantis.
So it seems that the problem can be reduced to the following case (unfortunately the most important one for me):
4. The bullets are not displayed in Atlantis 4.3 (beta) when I open a rtf-file that was created outside of Atlantis (= in MS Word via "Save as" from a doc-file containing bullets*).
*) In MS Word I add a bullet in the same way as it works in Atlantis: Via the Hot key Alt+P, respresenting the bullet in the symbols of MS Word. I only just see that in MS Word the bullet has other codes than in Atlantis: 149 ASCII (decimal), 0095 ASCII (hex) and 2022 Unicode (hex).

Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
You cannot change the order of status bar sections. Is, or will it, be possible to re-order the status bar selection, so in the window view (which is my preferred way to work) the item can be selected to show, and the ones that cannot fit in the windowed view will be exposed in the full screen view, in a future release?
I think the best approach is to deactivate the status bar sections you do not need. For example, if you uncheck the "Modified" section, it would not be hard to find out if a document is "modified" just by looking at its button on the document bar - buttons of modified documents have red captions. Same regarding the “Insert/Overwrite mode” section: when the “overwrite” mode is on, Atlantis normally displays a wide cursor (caret) in the document.
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
One more thing about the status bar. The “Caret position” section of this beta displays extra info about the amount of memory allocated by the program. The final version will not display this debug info. So the “Caret position” section will be significantly narrower.
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Thank you, helpful information I had missed.
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Would not it be simpler to compose a short sample document (without your confidential information), and post it to the forum, or email to support@atlantiswordprocessor.com?So it seems that the problem can be reduced to the following case (unfortunately the most important one for me): ...
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
I created a short document (called "bullet"). As described above, in the doc-file the bullets are visible, in the rtf-file they are not. Tested with Atlantis version 4.3.0.0 beta, build b8.

Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Thanks for the file. Now it should be loaded correctly.
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Yes, with build b9 it works. Thank you.
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
With beta 4.3.0.0 c5 :
If I am remembering correctly how Atlantis used to work, the text highlight (most people use yellow) is not working properly.
I think that I was previously able to select text with the cursor, and then click on the highlight color to color the already selected background.
That does not work anymore. Now I have to click the highlight tool and then spread the color over the text.
The same procedure is necessary to remove/change a color.
I tried it several times. I hope I got it right.

Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Yes the new behaviour is my experience, and the highlight tool needs selecting, and then dragged over the text to be highlighted, and is a backward step in useability.
The text colour process is unchanged.
It is easier (for me at least) if the method is as one reviews the text, seeing something to be highlighted, highlight the word or phrase, and click the highlight icon. This is a much easier work flow, and how it was in previous versions.
Thanks

Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Just a bug in this beta. Please update.
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Thanks...
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
Several times I have tried to add something to the Clip Library and have encountered a problem if I do it that way.
I select a glyph of some kind, like ❖ and then right-click the selection. A context menu opens and gives me the option to save to the Clip Library.
When I attempt to save, Atlantis throws a debug exception, and I have to terminate Atlantis. See the attached graphic of the displayed exception.

Fixed. Thank you.
Re: Atlantis Word Processor 4.3 (beta)
I have noticed in versions to the current d7 that the Spellchecker can mark words as misspelled that have Soft Hyphens (U+00AD) in them and are spelled correctly. Previous to 4.3 this was not the case. I think that Soft Hyphens should be ignored in words as it is a way to get Atlantis to hyphenate a word across lines when the hyphenate function does not cause hyphenation and leaves a large blank space at the end of a left justified paragraph.
