I have noticed that when I add a word to the custom hyphenation dictionary that contains a soft/optional hyphen (added by the OCR software) that it can cause problems when I try to correct what I just entered by moving a hyphen in version 4.3.4.1 and earlier. Instead of the expected replace an add occurs (much of the time I am not looking at the button but simply press Enter). When I look over the root word and variations I catch a duplicate entry. neither of the duplicates is selectable and therefore directly deletable. If the duplicates are not far from the root word I can start there and sequentially delete through the duplicates, sometimes that is not worth the effort and I cancel out. Since noticing this behavior and narrowing it down to most likely a soft hyphen, I try to remove all soft hyphens soon after adding an OCR scan file to the book I am working on. I am having trouble changing to this new habit. I would prefer Atlantis to remove any soft hyphens in words added and put a regular hyphen in its place as that is probably what I end up doing.

Re: Custom hyphenation dictionary and soft/optional hyphens
As I understand, you mean the "Tools | Hyphenation... > Customize..." dialog. Any future version of this dialog will automatically replace soft hyphens within the content of the "Hyphenation pattern" edit box with regular hyphens.
