I am using version 4.3.5.0 beta a4.
I have a 2 line paragraph where the 1st line has large gaps between words and sentences, the 2nd line looks normal. I expected the 1st word of the 2nd line to be hyphenated to reduce the gaps in the 1st line. The 1st word of the 2nd line is in my Custom Hyphenation and the Hyphenation zone is set to minimum: 7.2 points. I typed in a dash in the word as follows: ex-plain. The word then split across lines, reducing the gaps in the 1st line.
The paragraph is as follows split into the 2 lines:
Martine looked blank for a moment. "That could
explain…" Then she shut up.
I use the typing of a dash in words beginning a line to see if I should add them to my Custom Hyphenation. Normally after doing that and the word splits across lines, adding it to the Custom Hyphenation causes the word to be hyphenated in the document. Why is this paragraph not behaving in that manner?

Re: Hyphenation seems to sometimes not work
Could you please compose a short sample document, and email it alongside your configuration file (Atlantis.ini) to support@atlantiswordprocessor.com?
By the way, version 4.3.5 uses a completely new set of hyphenation patterns for the English language. As far as I can tell, the automatic hyphenation in 4.3.5 does a much better job than in older versions. I would not expect the need for many custom hyphenation patterns in the new version. Especially for common words like “explain”.
