Usually the width of a table will be the same or smaller than the width of a page. But sometimes it may happen that by error the table width exceeds the page width.
If a document (in my case created in MS Word) contains (somewhere) a paragraph with shading* and (at some other place) a table (with one or more columns), this combination may lead in Atlantis to problems in the look of the "shading bar" (as I will call it; I do not know if there is a better expression).
*) for shading see https://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/e ... orders.htm
Case 1:
The table width is the the same as (or smaller than) the page width. In this case in Atlantis all works fine with the shading bar: It has the same width too:
Case 2:
The table with exceeds the page width. In this case the shading bar (that means every shading bar in the document) "follows" in Atlantis the table width. The result is a quite unpleasant look. (Especially as the width of the regular text lines remains - fortunately - the same. So there will be the visual impression of quite a lot of white space at the end of some lines near a shading bar.) :
Compared with the depiction in Word: Here the width of the shading bar does not exceed the page width. It looks as it should:
Resizing of the table is unfortunately no option when there are too many of them so that I cannot even find out which one (possibly only one or two) is to blame.
So it would be fine if the shading bar could be "tamed" to stay with its regular width (= the one of the page), even if a table in the document goes beyond this width.
Thanks.
Shading is influenced by too big table width
Re: Shading is influenced by too big table width
This is how things may be rendered under the “Draft” view mode only. The “Draft” view is obviously not for the WYSIWYG display.
However, the next release of Atlantis will render paragraph borders and shading in such documents in a more Word-compliant way under the "Draft" view.
Thanks.

Yes, I usually view my documents in Atlantis in the Draft view mode.
That's fine. Thank you.
