I keep getting an access violation when changing the margins. The document has multiple columns. I am trying to apply the margin change to the whole document.

Did this happen with older versions of Atlantis? Could you send your document to betatesting@rssol.com and tell how to reproduce this?
No-- this didn't happen with older versions of Atlantis. Now I'm getting this error anytime I try to change the margins (columns or not). I've tried rebooting and I still get it.
Should the Hyphenation.dat file be unzipped in
C:\Program Files\Atlantis\Hyphenation.dat
or in it's own folder like this?
C:\Program Files\Atlantis\Hyphenation\Hyphenation.dat
I'm using WinXP.

Could you please send your settings to betatesting@rssol.com (please use "Tools | Options, Save Settings to INI File")?
Also how do you change the page settings: through the "File | Page Settings" dialog, or through the ruler?

I usually click in the appliction workspace (left of the page) to bring up the page settings dialog up.
I tried rolling back to version 1.5.2.2 and even though I didn't get the access violation-- I did get some kind of Windows explorer error. It wouldn't let me copy the info about the nature of the error though.
Wondering if this is XP related.

I'm running W2K, and can confirm both errors, when changing margins and when attempting to use Print Preview. The Print Preview bug also locks Atlantis up, requiring use of a process-killer to terminate it.BuffyBot wrote: I also get the same error when I click on the print preview button. It's worse though because Atlantis stops responding completely. Can only end the program by pressing ctrl-alt-del.

You could try to retrieve the contents of these messages using a little freeware utility called "Count Characters". Here is a description:
"Count Characters allows you dump the contents of various combo, edit, list boxes, static, and button fields to the clipboard."
Available from http://www.funduc.com/otsoft.htm#countchars
It doesn't always work but it is worth the try.

Thanks. Please download the latest build. It includes a fix.BuffyBot wrote: ini file sent...

You could also try your luck with this other freeware utility:
"CopyMessageBox allows you to easily copy texts or screenshots of message boxes and dialogs into the clipboard.
Useful for documentation/bug reports etc: Instead of copying a messagebox's (or any dialog's) text by hand, simply strike a key (configurable to your choice) - and the text is copied to the clipboard. The "Paste" command of your editor inserts the message to your document! "

Work OK here. Could not exceed margin in Page Setup - the program asked me to accept minimum margins but I could do it in Print Preview mode for my laser printer (< 0.43 cm from top, bottom and sides). Showed that it would be clipped.BuffyBot wrote: Thanks for fixing this so quickly and also for the freeware link. :)
I tried deliberately running the margin out of my printers printable area (.1") but the preview doesn't seem any different than the old preview. Atlantis isn't indicating what would be clipped.
Hmmm I guess this is just some quirk with my printer-- HP Deskjet 870Cse.dosdan wrote: Work OK here. Most probably that the minimal margins of your printer are much smaller than 1".BuffyBot wrote: I tried deliberately running the margin out of my printers printable area (.1") but the preview doesn't seem any different than the old preview. Atlantis isn't indicating what would be clipped.
You could open the "File | Page Settings" dialog, and specify zeros for all margins. Then click OK. Atlantis would suggest to set the minimal allowed margins of your printer.
If the Print Preview mode says that everything is OK, it means that everything is OK.
Your INI file helped to reproduce this too. Thanks again. Please download the latest build.
