Good morning!
For the life of me I cannot remember(?) or find how to insert a break in a column so I can move to another column without beginning a new page.

Please use "Column Break" from the drop-down menu attached to the "Insert Symbol" toolbar button.
Also, if you often insert column breaks, you could assign a custom hot key to the "Insert Column Break" command ("Tools | Hot Keys > Insert > Insert Column Break").

column breaks
This is long after these posts were made, so this may be old news.
One reason I got Atlantis is that it is the only shareware/inexpensive word processor that would create uneven sized columns as Word does. I do a lot of work in which I open plain text files, apply columns from the Format menu, and then separate the file into distinct pages and columns within each page. I just started using Ctl-Shift-Enter as you do in Word and it broke the column right where the cursor was. I don't recall entering any hot key commands to do this.
