Microsoft Works Format (.WPS)

Post by keyosuke »

I switched my cousin's household to Atlantis, but the main problem I've run into here is that they use Microsoft Works Word Processor, which is capable of reading MS Word documents and writing them, similar to Atlantis, but it saves documents as .WPS files, by default. Atlantis can not read these .WPS files, though it has impressive support for Word 2003 files. MS Works file format support is an old format and I'm sure it shouldn't be a top priority (as that should be full support of MS Word 2003+ format e.g. Tables), but support of .WPS doesn't seem like it would be hard since it already opens those files and doesn't seem to lose any of the text (though it shows random garbage mixed with the text). This is just another feature you might want to add some time, to easy the transition from MS products to your word processor. Maybe add macro/vb support one day, but I'm sure that would take an eon of work haha. I have attached a WPS file so you may see what I mean.
