This would be handy for me; whether it's practical, I don't know. I'd like to see a toolbar icon (or keyboard shortcut) that carries out "Backup Current Document to [whatever] drive." Let the [whatever] be a variable, of course.
This is obviously for making a quick backup to a USB drive, Zip drive, floppy disk, etc.
My hope is that this is already possible and I simply haven't found it yet. : )
Did you know: There's a command in the latest (X4) version of WordPerfect that lets you back up the current document to a floppy (a:) disk? Haha! Not to a drive of your choice, but to the a:\ drive! (I thought that was funny.)
Anyway, how about a backup-to-[drive] feature for Atlantis?

Backup to USB drive...
Hi Inky960,
There is no such command or toolbar icon. But you can achieve pretty much the same effect with “File | Save As…” (F12).
Whenever you want to save a copy of a document to a USB key, first plug the USB key into your PC, then press F12 in Atlantis. Select the target drive and folder in the “File | Save As” dialog, then save your document.
Of course, this is valid for any type of removable drive.
Cheers,
Robert

The upcoming version of Atlantis Word Processor will have a new command "Save Copy As…" under the "File | Save Special" menu. It would send a copy of the active document to the desired location on your hard disk or USB drive. This location would be remembered by Atlantis until you choose another location. You could assign a hot key to this new command, or place it on your toolbars.
Oh, very...
COOL! This is perfect. Seems you guys read my mind sometimes. : )

Hi Inky960,
Until you can upgrade to the upcoming version, you can use another method to save a copy of a document to a USB key.
1. Select the whole document (Ctrl+A).
2. Right-click and choose Save Selection As… (or press Ctrl+Shift+F12).
3. In the “Save Selection As” dialog, choose a target folder, give your file any appropriate name, and save it.
HTH.
Cheers,
Robert
