I see that both these features have been requested, but I wanted to request them together because they are invaluable to me as a writer. These are the ONLY two features I use MS Word for, and I would love to be able to ditch the entire, resource hogging program in favor of using only Atlantis. Editing has become more and more of an online, via email with notes embedded in the manuscript process and not having these two features means I have to rely on MS Word or Open Office, neither of which I really like. I would rather rely completely on Atlantis for all my writing and editing needs. And it would give make my recommendation of the program to other writers stronger. As it is, they can be hesitant to load yet another program on their computer that won't meet all their needs as authors.

Come to think of it, I do also use the table creation stuff in Word, but I don't need that in Atlantis. I can live with MSW or OO for that, if needed. lol

You might not need OpenOffice or Word in any case, domynoe. Softmaker Office contains workmanlike software, and the outdated 2006 version is free at <http://www.softmakeroffice.com/>. The WP is quick to start, keeps track of page numbers and cross-references over book-length manuscripts, and allows you to make tracked changes and insert comments. For writing purposes I prefer Atlantis, but I've been able to delete OpenOffice from my computer since downloading it. Good luck with article/book.

Which puts yet another program on my machine. I'd really like all my writing stuff in one program, and I really like Atlantis and recommend it to other writers I know. Having these two features would make it a more viable program for them.

I agree with above. The feature of comments is necessary today because of collaborations that are widely used among students, teachers and researchers. I'm sure there is a chance to implement the feature in Atlantis even if it uses RTF-format. Nisus Writer Pro that uses RTF too, http://nisus.com/pro/tour-comments.php? ... 592e2aab44 (Mac software) has this feature.

I agree completely. These are absolute necessary tools to a writer. Atlantis, I must say, is the most exciting word processor around. It keeps getting better and better every time. I'm sure the fine folks behind it will take a look at these essential features. They would benefit writers, academics, students and journalists alike.

I'd like to add my plea to this request.

My firm is a very small publishing company and my editors are all firmly attached to Track Changes and Comments. It makes editing interaction with authors, many of whom are being published for the first time, so much easier. We do fairly intensive editing so this is critical.

Cost is also a major factor for many of our authors and potential authors. Since Atlantis is so easy to learn, and within range of possible purchase for most people ($35! Amazing! I love Atlantis!) I'd like to recommend it. But I have to keep my editors happy too, so I'm stuck.

I realize it may not be easy to implement but I have confidence that the people who developed such a fine program are up to the Challenge.

Bravo for all these messages. Yes, as a writer and editor, I asked about the tracking tool before, but still now have to revert to Word. It can be done, of course, but becomes a little complicated.

Hope that our lobbying effort will work.
