Hi out there.
First of all. As you soon will find out. English is not my mother language, so when I do some mistakes (and I will) you are free to smile. A good smile do not hurt anybody,
But back "to business"
Many years ago in the stone age with typewriters and ribbons I was a hobby writer. Then I mooved on to PC and word and now I will try to "get my feet wet" in e-books.
I am absolutely new to e-books, and have looked around to try to find a program that was relatively easy to use as a beginner. Somebody on another forum sugested Atlantis, so here I am.
This Is what I am looking for: A program that can "tranfer" into PDF and epub. And that my e-books could be read on both PC and mobilphones, iphones etc.I use Windows XP on my computer.
Maybe I have to "Efit" this a little since I read my own post, and found it a little "cloudy" If I understand it correct, Atlantis is a complete writing program, but I need to have my "books so they can be read on PC and cellphones. (I allready have cute PDF installed ) and for your information I know wery little about programming, so I need all programs to be as simple and stright foreward as possible.
Mayne all my writing is a little confusing for you, but I hope you understand me.
The question is: Do Atlantis contain all the nessesary software to make an e-book from scratch to finish?
Best regards
seasong
I am new to Atlantis, and have some beginners questions.
Hi Seasong,
Nothing could be more simple than what you have in Atlantis.
If you already have documents in RTF, DOC, DOCX, or ODT format that you want to convert to the PDF or EPUB format, simply open them in Atlantis and, depending on the target format, either
—“print” them as PDF (see Saving Documents as PDFs for details),
—or “save” them as EPUB using the “File | Save Special > Save As Ebook…” command.
If you have tons of documents that you want to convert to EPUB quickly, use the “File | Save Special > Batch Conversion…” command instead. See eBooks and Batch Conversion for details.
Now if you have no document to convert to an “eBook” format yet, simply create a new document in Atlantis in any of the supported format (RTF, DOC, DOCX, or TXT), type in and format the text of your “book” as desired, then save that document. To get an “electronic publishing” version of that document, either “print” it as PDF, or save it as EPUB as indicated above.
Note that it is preferable to create “eBook” content whose formatting is not overly complex. The EPUB format is a reflowable format and complex formatting does not go down well with the current e-readers.
HTH.
Cheers,
Robert

Just go to the downloads page and click on the 'Setup file of Atlantis Word processor' line about halfway down the page (just above the PC World/Tucows logo).
or am I misunderstanding you?
Edit: seasong's last post saying (s)he'd installed Atlantis wasn't showing when I wrote the above answer - odd. Anyway, have fun with it seasong, it's got several great features such as 'overused words'.

Batch conversion
Hello,
I must thank you for the recently added option of batch conversion.
I've massively used it last Sunday to convert thousands of documents RTF into epub format. Atlantis did a very good and fast job, even creating the TOC when the original file contained heading paragraphs.
Thank you very much!
