Book or ebook template, what is the difference?

Post by seasong »

When I started up and tryed to write a little with Atlantis, I was testing out the two different templates: book and ebook.
What is the difference between the two?
It would be nice to know, because I think that the book template looks nicer than the ebook template. I only wish there was a cover image in the book template.

Hi Seasong,
The “Book.rtf” template is meant to be used for printed books. It includes two-column formatting, headers and footers, page numbers, etc. These features would not be saved to the EPUB format.
On the other hand, the “eBook.rtf” template is meant to be used for “electronic publishing”: in many ways, it simulates the “reflowable” formatting required by the EPUB specifications.
HTH.

Thanks again Robert.
You make it a little more easy for me.
(I guess I am a slow learner) :)
