Bullet lists in epub
When I make a normal bullet list and export my document as an epub-file, the bullets are not converterd to <ul>-lists in the epub but to little png-images with a number of hard spaces between the image and the following text which belongs to the bullet. Why? An unordered list would be much preferred. Maybe I have missed how to format the list in Atlantis?

Ok,
I haven't noticed that. I usually try books in Sony Reader, Cybook Opus, BeBook, Cooler, Cybook Gen3, iBooks, Digital Editions on PC...
Do you have an example of a reader that doesn't render bullets/lists?
Would be interesting to try.
The png-images work, sure, but they don't line up as nicely as a bullet list.
I'm a bit picky...
A word of praise to the developers though - Atlantis is so far the best software I have tried when it comes to ease-of-use and output of nice, clean code!

The problem is that only basic automatic lists from Atlantis documents can be correctly encoded through the "HTML ordered lists" (I mean the <ol>, <ul>, and <li> HTML elements). But possibly a future version of Atlantis will save "simplest" automatic lists in the "ol/ul/li" way.
In any case, if you are going to save a document as EPUB, it is preferable to avoid automatic lists with a tab character following automatic numbers/bullets. A space character after automatic numbers/bullets will work better.

Hi Peter,
If you haven’t created any list yet, click “Format | List…” You’ll open the “List” dialog. You can then click to display either the “Simple Bulleted” or “Simple numbered” tab. Create a completely new list and make sure that “Space” is selected in the “Follow bullet with” or “Follow text with” drop-down, depending on your choice of list type.
Note that you can also modify the properties of the lists present in the Atlantis “List Gallery” attached to the “Bullets” and “Numbering” toolbar buttons. The properties of the lists included in the Atlantis “List Gallery” can be modified from the bottom half of the “Format | List…” dialog. Simply select a list of interest in the bottom half of the “Format | List…” dialog, then click “Edit highlighted list format” (third button from top on the dialog vertical toolbar). Again, make sure that “Space” is selected in the “Follow bullet with” or “Follow text with” drop-down, depending on your choice of list type.
If you have already created a list and you want to modify the properties of that list only, simply click on a bullet or a number. This will show the “Bullets & Numbers” toolbar. Click “Edit list format” on that toolbar (third button from right, top row). You will open the “List” dialog. Make sure that “Space” is selected in the “Follow bullet with” or “Follow text with” drop-down, depending on the list type.
For more detailed information, please have a look at the Atlantis Help topic Bulleted and Numbered Lists.

Cheers,
Robert
