I'm wondering if there is any way to turn off the spell-check dialog "You are about to add a word containing capital letters to the user dictionary . . . etc." I'd be happy if Atlantis would just remember the word as it is, or in lower case.
I find this extra spell-check step annoying and overly time consuming, especially in a long document.
Word containing capital letters
This dialog cannot be turned off.
Atlantis displays this dialog for "unknown" capitalized words because any new word should be included in the spellcheck dictionary in the lowest case pattern applicable to that word. For example, the word "jack" can be used in three case patterns:
jack
Jack
JACK
All three patterns are correct. But it is important to include the lowest case pattern in the dictionary. If you include "JACK" in the dictionary, Atlantis would report "jack" and "Jack" as misspelt. If you include "Jack" in the dictionary, Atlantis would report "jack" as misspelt. If you include "jack" in the dictionary, neither of the three case forms would be reported as misspelt.
Most proper names can be used in two case patterns only:
Gioconda
GIOCONDA
The lowest possible case pattern - Gioconda - should be included in the dictionary.
If you want to add proper names to the dictionary, they should be added with a proper capitalization. Otherwise Atlantis could not report wrongly capitalized instances of those proper names.
