Find & Replace Return Point

Post by cyana »

It would be great if Atlantis would return to the place in the text where you launched a Find/Replace All task. In most cases, when editing a large file you come across a misspell and want to correct it everywhere in the text, and continue with your work afterwards.

thanks :)

Hi Cyana,
When you do a “Ctrl+H” operation, you’ll automatically be taken back to the first replacement Atlantis made if you have been careful to choose “Backward” as the “Search Direction” in the “Ctrl+H” dialog before pressing “Replace All”.

Of course, this will work only

1. If you have started the “Ctrl+H” operation from the end of the document,

2. Or if you have made a selection before calling the “Ctrl+H” dialog.

To make the most appropriate selection in such cases, I suggest placing the caret before the first instance to be replaced, and pressing “Shift+Ctrl+End” (this will select all the document from the insertion point onwards).

HTH.
Cheers,
Robert
