Convert Numbered List to Normal Text

Post by franklinreid »

Sometimes I have a need to copy a numbered list and paste it into an email. The formatting is lost and the numbers along with it. I have been simply retyping the numbers in the email.

I would like to know if there is a way to convert the numbered list to a normal text list and retain the numbering.
Thanks.

1. Select the list that you want to copy (the simplest way to do so is by double-clicking the automatic number of any item of the list).

2. Right-click the selected list, and choose the "Simple numbered list > Convert to manual list" or "Simple bulleted list > Convert to manual list" or "Outline list > Convert to manual list" command from the context menu.

3. Select the list paragraphs with the mouse or keyboard, and press Ctrl+C to copy it to the clipboard.

4. Press Ctrl+Z to restore the automatic list in your document.

Hi Franklin,
If you send HTML-formatted email messages as most people do, you can use the following alternative method:
1. In Atlantis, select the automatic list that you want to copy.
2. Still in Atlantis, click “Edit | Copy as HTML”, or use the dedicated toolbar button Image.
3. Switch to your email client and press “Ctrl+V” to paste the Windows clipboard contents into your email message.
The list should get pasted with its original formatting and numbering.

I use this method all the time.
HTH.
Cheers,
Robert
