Need help getting rid of Extra lines between paragraphs.

Post by writenow »

I have a very long document, 398 pages. I am tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to format it like a manuscript.

Currently the document is double-spaced, but with an extra line between paragraphs. I need to get rid of those extra lines. Nothing I've tried works. So. I came here hoping somebody might have an idea.

It would take days to go remove all the hard returns manually.

1. Please press Ctrl+H.

2. In the "Find what" edit box, type "^p^p" (without quotes).

3. In the "Replace with" edit box, type "^p" (without quotes).

4. Click "Replace All".

Alternatively,

1. Press Ctrl+H.

2. Check the "Use wildcards" box.

3. In the "Find what" edit box, type "<<^p" (without quotes).

4. Clear the contents of the "Replace with" edit box (or leave it blank).

5. Click "Replace All".

Hey, THANKS!!

The ^p^p in the Find what box and the ^p in the Replace with box works. Saved me a huge amount of work and worry. And it's a solution I will no doubt need in the future.

Thanks again. :D
