My question is in the Subject Line. Is it possible to turn off automatic numbering/lists/outlines?
I've always found it hugely frustrating. Not in Atlantis specifically, in any word processor. I want to type in my own numbers and text in my own way. But no. Word processors jump in and interfere the moment I type a digit followed by letters. It screws everything up, using the #s it wants to use, changing the spacing, indenting and moving things to its own discordant music.
Tools | AutoCorrect Options… > Uncheck “Replace manual bulleting or numbering with automatic”.
Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+Z after any automatic correction (or click “Edit | Undo AutoCorrect”).
