Request for comment-feature

Post by janniklindquist »

(Sorry - posted this to the wrong part of the forum. Here it is again)

I know that a comment-feature has been requested before, but - in my opinion - support for adding comments would be of real benefit to users. Even if it were just a simple tool to let the writer add instructions to himself. Is this possible - given the RTF-format?

Jannik, thanks for your "feature request". But at this point I cannot say when this feature will be implemented in Atlantis.

Ok, thanks. But can you tell us if it is even possible to implement this feature - given the RTF-format?

Yes, the RTF format supports comments/annotations.

This would be a useful feature. Peer-reviewed journals tend to expect contributors to submit revised drafts using comments and tracked changes. Academic publishers also tend to expect writers to compile their own indexes... these features would make Atlantis very desirable to writers and scholars: if Atlantis remained blinding fast and utterly reliable, as at present.

Business users, who need mailmerge and graphics, are already supported by a thousand MS-Office lookalikes.
