Not table???
Not table???
You can not insert a simple table?
Tables
Atlantis does a lot of remarkable things. First and foremost, for me, is that it produces the cleanest, most logical code for an epub file that you will find anywhere.
Additionally, it handles most documents just fine and uses a traditional Windows interface (instead of the absurd "ribbon" that Microsoft inflicted on us). Atlantis also handles styles in a rational way instead of including a zillion styles that you do not want in your "Normal" template. I use Atlantis for a great deal of my writing.
But tables are just not part of the features. See this thread for a history of the whole issue:

If you really need tables, I suggest the free OpenOffice.org suite or the equivalent LibreOffice.

Jarhead,
I thought I was somebody who always stayed way behind the cutting edge in computer hardware.
But I think you have beaten me out on that score.
If you cannot handle suites like Open Office, then you are probably just stuck. You might find a small application (maybe, somewhere) that will handle tables, but I doubt it. I even checked Microsoft's WordPad just now to see if it supports tables, but it appears not to.

Wordpad will not make a table but it will display one in a document it imports. You can even cut and paste it and edit its content. What wordpad cannot do is make a page break although again it will support one if imported. It is limited to serve as a reader mostly these days.rstroud wrote:Jarhead,

Thanks, Torben ...
I took a look at the link. I did not try the program.
That would be a good choice for someone who absolutely has to have tables and has limited hardware. The installation file is about one-tenth the size of the free OpenOffice/LibreOffice suites. The free version handles tables, according to the information on the website.

If Tomahawk is not to your liking, then there is also Abiword, but personal I don't like it:

Beside being a user of Atlantis I use SoftMaker Office - both paid versions, but you can have SoftMaker Office for free. The features in SoftMaker Office 2006 should cover the needs of most people:

There is also a newer free version (2012), but you have to get a free registration via email for it:

Hope this helps.
