Text flow AROUND tables

Post by Breew »

when using a table that is not full width , say 50% width of a page, text wont flow around it.. or i have not found a way to do so. The white space is a bit glaring and centering the table is silly. HELP..

Again, you can use newspaper-type columns, with the table in one column, and any other text “flowing” within the next (newspaper-type) column.

Or you can use a single table, and put the extra text on the right within a borderless column of the same table. Attached “TEXT & PICTURES IN ATLANTIS TABLES.RTF” illustrates such possibilities.
HTH.

putting text in table?

Post by Breew »

Its not flowing around, so when editing, you change things have to copy paste out of the table then into the table.. so when doing a small table you get a huge white space.. but if you edit the document, the text above and below change but you have to cut out the stuff in the table , paste it into the main text then cut out what you think fits and hand do more adjustments just to get it to balance.. can text flow around a table be implemented?? maybe when making a table have a check box to let text flow around table if more then xx is open to end of line.. or something.. I do that in openoffice but i like the other controls for tables here and how the other parts of Atlantis just work right. Having to do tables with text , getting it to flow around tables is of great importance. even if just one choice of let it flow around this table or not would be great.

In newspaper-type columns, the text is automatically balanced across the columns. If you want more control, you can use column breaks.
