Seperate tables side by side.

Post by Breew »

sorta related to text flow around tables.. is it possible to put 2 tables side by side, without merging them and hiding lines and all. true 2 tables. This would help.

You can put 2 independent tables within newspaper-type columns. Please see attached “TABLES WITHIN NEWSPAPER-TYPE COLUMNS.RTF” for an example.

2 col tables

Post by Breew »

yes it sorta works.. but changing the table say add a line or take one out.. then you get formatting problems as it try's to adjust.. also do not want multiple columns on page.. it sorta works but using second table to hold a pic and scaling it to size so wanting to lock the size of the table.. it wont and picture scaling makes the cell change making the columns change... like i said it works but not good having to adjust each pic by hand and then play with lines and points to adjust table to balance. way to much work.

The size of a table can be locked if you express its width in fixed measurements. Here is from the online help (Formatting tables):
the width of tables with a fixed width specified in inches or another unit is not changed when changes are made to the width of the host page or newspaper column.
